Support for Dissertation Projects

In order to collaborate with the development of dissertations, UC Graduate School offers resources and activities to support the students in the research process.

Talks on academic performance

In partnership with CARA, talks aim to be a guide and offer support to our students.

  • Time Management

The goal of these talks is to support and guide students in managing their time through the use of practical tools.

  • Focusing problems in the doctorate

This activity explains how focusing mechanisms work. Students will be given directions on how to improve this skill and other alternatives to strengthen it

Available resources offered by UC Libraries

In alliance with UC Libraries, these workshops are intended to train students on the access and effective use of international databases, to contribute to the development of their transversal skills in the field of research.

     •  How to search effectively for information in your area

In this workshop, students will learn how to search effectively for information through the search engine of international databases provided by the UC. The workshop also provides recommendations to optimize searching in terms of time and quality invested.

  • Find interesting journals to publish on

This workshop focuses on the available resources and services of UC, with emphasis on Web of Science and Scopus database and analysis tools. It also gives useful tips to facilitate the process of publishing.

  • Mendeley: quotations and bibliographies one click away

A correct use of quotation and bibliography is essential to the proper development of a dissertation. At the same time, the use of the Mendeley Bibliographic manager is recommended.

  • ORCID Profile Creation

Open Researcher & Contributor IC (ORCID) is a non-profit organization that offers a unique identification code for authors and contributors of scientific publications. Nature, Wiley, Taylor & Francis are just a few of the international publishers applying to ORCID. For our university, it is also a requirement to apply for research competitions of the Vice-Chancellor’sOffice, so the creation of a profile on the platform is extremely important.
