Stay Abroad for PhD Thesis 1_2020

Objective

This competition offers doctoral students the opportunity to carry out short research stays abroad, which benefits the development of their thesis project.

Requirements

• Be a regular student of a Doctoral Program and have the candidacy examination and thesis project (or its equivalent) approved. Exceptionally, applications from students who will soon take their exam with the due support of the program (certification with a tentative defense date) may be considered. The student must have an approved application before starting his / her internship.
• Have been accepted by a professor at the destination university or institution.
• Have the support of their respective Head of the Doctoral Program.
• Have complementary financing as requested in this contest.
• Be studying, at most, the 9th. semester of their doctoral studies, at the time of the internship. However, priority will be given to those who demonstrate an academic progression according to the official duration of the doctoral program.

Benefits

• Monthly maintenance allowance of USD 600 for up to 3 months. Exceptionally and according to availability
  budgetary, stays of up to 6 months may be financed, according to a case-by-case evaluation.
• Roundtrip airfare in economy class, from Santiago to the destination city abroad, for
  a maximum of USD $ 1,500.
• Monthly allowance for USD 60 to cover health expenses.
