Program Description

The Doctoral Program in Linguistics offered by the Faculty of Literature of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile responds to studying human language scientifically and at the highest academic level. Its essential purpose is to train young researchers with a robust knowledge base that will allow them to make a significant and relevant contribution to the academic and social environment. We expect our graduates to work from humanistic and supportive ethics in the joint and open construction of linguistic studies, to have the capacity to produce, founded on our Latin American reality, actual knowledge that dialogues with that of specialists from the rest of the world and, finally, to be able to contribute to open new spaces in the disciplines that make up linguistics.
