Competitive Funding for Internationalization

Students that belong to any of the UC Doctorate programs will be able to apply for competitive funds that promote internationalization.


  • Joint Doctoral Supervision abroad: Apply for a residency stay with Joint Doctoral Supervision leading to a double degree or joint degree while you develop your dissertation project at the most recognized and prestigious international universities worldwide.
  • One Month Internships for Dissertation Projects: promotes international and intercultural integration for students in research activities and UC doctoral training, through one month internships universities abroad.
  • Financial Support for Doctoral Students attending International Congresses: funding to afford tickets, accommodations and/or registration fees, for students presenting at international conferences.
  • Visiting Professor to Supervise Dissertation Projects: We fund visits from internationally renowned professors who participate in the qualifying exam or dissertation defense of UC doctorate.
  • Catholic University – Notre Dame Academic Exchange Program: We fund short-term internships for doctoral students who want to consolidate research and/or teaching projects and activities.
  • 3 Minute Thesis Contest (3MT® UC): Students must communicate, in three minutes and in English, the significance of their dissertation projects to a non-specialist audience. There are 3 prizes per contest, since there is a local version of the competition (UC) and an international one (U21).
  • International Doctorate in Contemporary Humanism: it is a research experience in a humanist and multicultural environment. This doctorate offers a joint doctoral supervision residency, leading to obtain a double degree at one of the universities of the International Program of Contemporary Humanism:
