Accreditation

The accreditation of a postgraduate program is a process that certifies compliance with and the existence of effective self-regulation and quality assurance methods.

Since 2006, Chile has a Quality Assurance System (Law No. 20,129), which establishes that the agency responsible for verifying and promoting the quality of universities, professional institutes and technical training centers and also of undergraduate and graduate programs is the National Accreditation Commission (CNA).

The 36 PhD programs at UC are accredited or in the process of re-accreditation. This is an important factor to consider, since the program must be accredited for students to be eligible for sources that provide educational funding.
