Support for the participation of PhD students in International Congresses 1_2020


Objective

The Graduate School of the Vice-Rector’s Office for Research offers partial funding for the participation of Ph.D. students in oral presentations at international conferences, organized by institutions of recognized prestige in the area of ​​studies, to be held abroad.

Requirements

  • Be regular students of a doctoral program (with a minimum stay of 1 full semester in the program and a maximum until the 8th semester).
  • Accredit the acceptance of an ORAL presentation in an international congress organized by an institution of international prestige in the corresponding area.
  • Have a good academic performance. For this purpose, the cumulative weighted average (PPA) of the applicant and their progression during the development of the program will be considered as an indicator.
  • Have additional external financing.
  • Have the support of their respective Ph.D. Program Head, who will review and approve the applications via the CONVERIS platform, once the contest is closed.

Benefits

This contest offers partial financing associated with expenses of stay, tickets or registration in the international event, in fixed amounts, depending on the place where the congress is held (in Chilean pesos):
Latin America $ 200,000.-
North America (Canada, United States, Mexico) $ 300,000.-
Europe $ 370,000.-
Africa, Asia, and Oceania $ 400,000.-
